Donald C. Truesdale CPO, 1936-2007
Donald is a native of Sullivans Island South Carolina where as a child he survived polio-myelitis, as a teen started for his high school basketball team, and as a young adult attended the Citadel in Charleston. After completing his commitment as a Navy Corpsman Don returned to Charleston and took a job at his first Prosthetics and Orthotics company.
In 1968 Donald moved his family to New Bern North Carolina where he practiced for over thirty years. In addition to providing for his family Don contributed immeasurably to the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics through patient care, mentoring of residents, contributing to our body of literature and constantly pursuing the development of emerging technologies.
Albemarle Orthotics & Prosthetics is owned and operated by Donald’s children who have grown into a company that has branches all over Eastern NC and Southeastern VA, expanding upon the mission by which he lived. In this way we honor our father and express our gratitude in loving memory.
